Description: Militants from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have abducted and killed a Nigerian brigadier general while on patrol in the city of Wajiroko in Nigeria’s Borno State. The general and his unit were ambushed in Wajiroko while their communications were severed which allowed the militants to conduct a coordinated strike, initially abducting the general and eliminating his unit. ISWAP, shortly after the abduction announced that the general has been executed. The RSF has expanded their ground offensive after the fall of El Fasher towards the tristate Kordofan.
