Description: Drone attack was conducted on a busy marketplace in the North Darfur state causing massive material damage and resulting with 10 civilian casualties. Neither the RSF nor the SAF claimed responsibility for the attack in the city of Malha, controlled by the RSF. Clashes elsewhere have intensified while the focal point of the civil war is currently in the South Kordofan province, where sustained armed confrontations between the RSF and the SAF have led to more civilian deaths and infrastructure damages. The cities of Kadugli and Dilling have been besieged by RSF forces since the beginning of the war while aid organizations in the country have reported that vast regions are experiencing a measles outbreak, concentrated around the Darfur province.

Impact: The civil war in Sudan continues to inflict mass casualties followed by the spread of diseases and ethnic persecution. The Kordofan province as the central flashpoint for recent confrontations would determine the mid – term outcome of the war since both the RSF and the SAF are fighting for control over resource rich territories that also have vital transportation and logistical networks. Aid organizations are severely limited by the global lack of funding, while coordination remains discontinued due to the blockade on communications in the country. Recent events have demonstrated that both warring parties are intensifying their warfare campaigns while diplomatic and political resolutions remain a far – fetched prospect. Sudan’s likeliest long – term scenario is another territorial partition, which would have ripple effects on the regional stability since the variety of socio – economic and security disruptions could transpire over the country’s borders.
