Israel – Hamas War: IDF Intensifies Ground Offensive on Gaza City

By September 1, 2025No Comments

Description: The Israeli Defense Forces have pushed tanks and vehicles armed with explosives across residential areas in the outskirts of Gaza City, where explosions killed more than 19 people, most of them civilians. The Israeli Defense Ministry has announced that Israel’s forces have eliminated the spokesperson of Hamas’ armed wing, the Al Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida in the attacks. The International Association of Genocide Sholars (IAGS) has announced the situation in Gaza to constitute as genocide committed by Israel, adding to the international pressure exerted on Israel to cease the armed offensive and allow humanitarian aid to enter the Strip unabated. Prime Minister Netanyahu’s recent statements as well as a leaked report published by the Washington Post declared of unequivocal US support for Israel’s continued military offensive in expulsion of the Palestinian population from the Strip, and its complete restructuring. Netanyahu’s statements for continuation of the offensive support the information regarding the outcome of a confidential meeting in Washington last week, chaired by the President Donald Trump, in which the US President gave his final approval to the Israeli Prime Minister to continue its warfare campaign until Hamas is completely neutralized.

Impact: The international community has added to the public condemnation of Israel’s activities in the Gaza Strip, without any specific effects of repercussion towards Israel and its genocidal activities in the Gaza Strip. The information regarding the US penultimate supportive efforts for Israel’s intensification of the ground offensive complements the US’ revocation of visas for Palestinian representatives at the UN General Assembly which would take place this month. With all organizations supporting the Palestinian resistance in Gaza and the West Bank depleted in capabilities, Israel has no incentive to reapproach the negotiations with Hamas or commit efforts to achieve some sort of a peace agreement. The entire international community is constrained by the absence of practical and concrete measures through which substantial pressure would be exerted upon Israel to cease its genocidal war in Gaza, which indicates that further humanitarian devastation, internal displacement of civilians and military persecution would be conducted by Israel’s military in a final push to expunge Hamas and the Palestinians from the Strip.
