US: House of Representatives Stalls Voting on Trump’s Bill

Description: After the Senate vote in favor of Trump’s enormous tax cut and spending bill, the House of Representatives vote has stalled casting a shadow on the bill’s success of being introduced as legislation. Last ditch overtures saw several members of the Republican party stressing the problematic tax cutting details of the bill which mostly affected the US healthcare system and other social programs such as the food stamp initiative. Billionaire Elon Musk reignited his spat with President Trump, heavily criticizing the bill, which incited further divisions between the Republican political camp. President Trump has also been heavily invested in the introduction of the bill by pressuring senators and lawmakers through social media as he continued to convince the public of the benefits originating from the introduction and incorporation of the bill.

Impact: The procedural House of Representatives voting process has impeded Trump’s efforts to introduce one of the largest economic measures in the US. The controversial tax and spending bill is facing administrative obstacles which are complicating its introduction into legislation. Hands on lobbying efforts from the opposition would significantly impact the final vote, as Republicans still hold the majority in every US political establishment and there is little to no chance for the bill not to get passed. Despite last ditch efforts to cause friction and division between the Republican political camp, the bill is largely expected to be introduced into legislation and restructure the US economic system from its foundations. Key social programs and the healthcare system would be substantially impacted on the expense of raising funding for the US military, immigration and detention services. The bill would also impact self – sustainable green energy initiatives as it reserves funding for reigniting the US oil and mining sectors.
